Score sources

Where every number comes from

WUZIT! shows only ratings it really has. Two sources are live today — TMDB user ratings and WUZIT! member ratings — and each is labelled as itself wherever it appears. The two are never blended into a composite score.

Web intelligence layer

Firecrawl — not configured

Structured catalogue data (TMDB) is always the primary source. Web intelligence runs only when the catalogue cannot answer — plot recall, quotes, song placements, episode-level details and cultural context. Web results are evidence with a visible source, domain and fetch time, never presented as verified fact. Results are cached to keep costs low, and every web-derived candidate is resolved back to a catalogue entity before it can be opened.

Live

Sources with real data today

TMDB user ratingnative 0–10Live — real data

Live and real. Shown on movie, show, season and episode pages exactly as TMDB reports it, with its vote count.

Used for: Title pages — labelled as a TMDB provider score, never re-badged as a WUZIT! score.

WUZIT! member ratingsnative 0–10WUZIT! first-party

Real ratings submitted by WUZIT! accounts, aggregated with confidence adjustment. It is our own audience, not a third-party provider, so it is never blended into a provider score.

Used for: Top Rated, per-title community averages and your own rating history.

Consequence

What this means on a title page

  • TMDB user rating — shown with its real vote count, labelled as TMDB, linked back to TMDB.
  • WUZIT! members — shown once real members have rated the title, with a confidence band that reflects how few or many votes there are.
  • Career analytics — computed from real TMDB vote data with confidence shrinkage, never from an assumed baseline.

Source disclosure: WUZIT! ratings come from TMDB user votes and WUZIT! member ratings only. No other rating provider is used, no score is estimated, inferred, offset or substituted, and no restricted site is scraped. See the methodology.
